An Ode to Marketplace

Oh, dear Facebook Marketplace!
An app with much potential.
Shopping is not a bidder's race
Thanks to how you make it social.

History tells of how you grew
So slowly until Oodle came.
Three million users later, too,
Your story is not quite the same.

Perhaps it is the way you look,
Or how you leverage users' friends.
You're social, just like Facebook,
The network on which your app depends.

Your app banks on simplicity;
No doubt it's intuitive to use.
There's also less duplicity,
And it's less subjected to abuse.

Finding buyers is now easy
Someone I know, is not a must.
No more worries, or feeling queasy
My social circle has those I trust.

Need a hand? Just make a Shout!
My friends will come a-running.
They'll help me check the item out
Or see if the seller's cunning.

Like gaming, social shopping's in
With websites like kaboodle.
Your concept's actually pretty thin -
Just FBML on Oodle.

But "No!", a thousand fans decry.
"We're way better, if not on par."
It's kind of hard to buy that lie
When most reviews are just one star.

You spam users with notices
When all they want to do is shop.
It's irritating because this is
The sort of actions you should stop.

Somehow there's no way to pay;
That's one more thing that makes me sad.
Buying something would've made my day,
Now I'm like John without the iPad. [1]

Facebook has virtual currency,
But it seems like you're not part of it.
So I guess you'll soon be history,
Cause without payments, you're kind of shit not a hit.

All it takes is for them to start
Their very own ecosystem.
You'll soon be out, and even BOOMZcart
Will stand a better chance against 'em.

Oh, dear Facebook Marketplace!
An app with much potential.
All buyers and sellers have a face
Thanks to how you make it social.

I just want to say that the video done by Joshua's group was really awesome. The simple aesthetics in which the message was communicated through, the well-paced narration and occasional sound effects made for an easily enjoyable presentation.

My only slight gripe is that a few of the scenes were repeated, which is very understandable given the time constraint, but it simply left me wanting more awesomeness.

To sum up - fantastically clear, and fun. YAYYY.
